A yearly growth of over 30% in subscriber following has established a solid footing for Hulu. This has also brought about a total stream growth of 78% with Hulu. Their offering last year consisted of additions of a bulk of new content and an add-free choice.
Now ad changes are in the works for Hulu who aims to bring more excitement with the use of interactive ads shown on your TV right in the comfort of your home. Not only that, other than your smart TV, the ads can also be enjoyed through the use of devices such as Apple TV, Fire TV, and Roku.
The new ads will have a similar format as the ones you now see on your smart phone. Ordering, buying, and other options for the different product ads you see will now be a click away. Just watching the ads is fine too.
Mike Hopkins, CEO of Hulu has this to say: the vast additions last year in the content portfolio of Hulu ranging from cable shows, hit broadcasts, and smash hit movies has pushed it to an all-time high growth in terms of engagement and subscriber following. The CEO promises bigger expansions to happen in 2016 by adding more of the finest and superior content to their brand-new ads to make Hulu the top option when it comes to advertising experience and premium entertainment.
Hulu has come a long way from a company that was on the verge of being closed or sold off with its big reversal over the past two years. The company is set to grow and move forward which has made it a force to be reckoned with. It is hoped that this big turnaround happening in Hulu will remain steady to give giant competitors such as Netflix and Amazon Video a run for their money.
