For quite some time now, Logitech has been building quality speakers, with consumers applauding the build, quality, and affordability of their models. With a price tag hovering around a little over $160AUD, the Logitech Z533 2.1 speaker system has officially cemented itself in the middle of the crowded speaker market. Purposely aimed at entertainment enthusiasts who demand a bit of “thump” in their gaming, music, and movie audio, these speakers are some of the latest PC speakers released by Logitech. Logitech has consistently delivered high quality speakers that look and perform great, so does the Z533 also stack up? Let’s take a look in our Logitech Z533 review.
Logitech Z533 Review – What’s in the Box?
Logitech always takes the time to produce some of the best packaging for their products that both look great and keep their contents safe and secure while being shipped and the Logitech Z533 speakers are no different. The box is quite large, as you would expect, and is made of a sturdy cardboard with matte colouring.
On the front of the box there is a large image of the Z533 speaker in all their glory, and they do look great. The company logo is printed at the top left with the model number printed at the top right of the box. At the bottom of the box you will find the power figures as well as icons indicating what platforms are supported.
On the left and right of the box Logitech has printed the product specifications as well as an actual size product shot of one of the speakers. The packaging makes use of the Logitech green that we are all familiar with.
Turning to the rear of the box if where you will find some of the features of the Logitech Z533 speaker system along with corresponding graphics. All in all the packaging looks great and I could tell that the contents were packed away carefully inside the box.
The packaging of the product contains several components. These include:
1x setup guide
2x stereo speakers
1x subwoofer unit
2x audio cables (for the speakers)
1x volume/bass amplifier
1x TRS cable (3.5mm TRS to 3.5mm)
1x power cable
Logitech Z533 – Another Awesome System From a Company That Knows What They Are Doing
Logitech opted for an “uncovered” design with a nice blend of textures. A glistening black plastic is situated along the bottom part of the speakers with the speaker cone outer ring. The remaining speaker housing is designed in black with a mixture of a brass-gold internal ring surrounding the cone. A gold Logitech logo can be seen at the bottom of both speakers.
The subwoofer unit is a separate speaker on its own, housed in black cloth. The subwoofer isn’t as big as a lot of other PC speaker setups which is great as it means it easily tucks away either under or next to the desk.
When it comes to connection, all connections are located on the subwoofer and they couldn’t be more simple. You have 2 sets of RCA connections along with a Aux connection for the input and another 2 for the output. The Input allows you to connect devices such as your TV and video game consoles while the output is where you connect both the Z533 speakers. The output connectors are colour coded in order to match the cables on the speakers which make setup very easy.
You’ll also notice the speaker system possesses a hockey puck-like volume/bass amplifier. Aside from controlling volume and bass, it also functions as a power switch. The control pod contains 3.5mm connections allowing you to connect your headphones.
All in all the Logitech Z533 system looks absolutely amazing with its sleek design and fantastic build quality.
The Logitech Z533 2.1 speakers do an excellent job in providing quality sound without hogging a lot of space. When you play music through them, you’ll notice a quick and rich bass response and sound depth. It’s obvious these speakers aren’t a typical Dolby Surround Sound 7.1 setup, but they’re comparable to a set of quality studio speakers and they sound great.
Priced affordably at around $160AUD, these speakers are worth certainly worth investing in. The Z533 speakers are capable of playing lower and higher frequencies without a hitch. If you happen to be an entertainment junky who loves listening to music and watching flicks with plenty of bass then you will love the rich bass that the subwoofer pumps out.
The Logitech Z533 2.1 is packed with 120W of peak power paired with 60W RMS (15W per satellite and 30W for the subwoofer). It’s a system that delivers decent power and is a lot louder than other PC speakers in the market and delivers deafening sound at high volumes, which is great.
When the bass setting is tweaked at mid-level, the system’s subwoofer delivers a worthy audio punch to any game, video, and music track without taking up too much of the remaining sound. When tweaked at the highest level, some muffled effects can be heard but this alone won’t be enough to deter those who want that much needed “oomph” from their stereo PC speakers.
When is comes to using the Logitech Z533 speakers there really isn’t much to it with the setup being very simple. It’s subwoofer is the primary system hub consisting of left and right channel outputs. In addition, it has 3.5mm and RCA inputs for connecting a PC/laptop and/or TV or gaming console at the same time. Both speakers have clear channel markings. Bare wiring or clips are nowhere to be seen, so that greatly saves you from fiddling around with them.
The only challenging part of the system setup is getting the subwoofer positioned so each cable is capable of reaching to where you would like to place the speakers while also trying to make it easy to reach the control pod. It would have been good to see longer cables provided with the speakers to allow for more configuration options.
If you’re currently looking for affordable speakers, it’s certainly worth giving the Logitech Z533 2.1 a try. The system boasts some of the best quality in terms of product design and sound. Everything from unboxing the set to testing out sound capability is top notch without any downside. The speakers fit well with just about any interior surrounding, be it in the living room, office, or for computer and console setup.
The Logitech Z533 2.1 delivers a rich sound experience with fantastic features you won’t regret at a very affordable price tag. At just around $160AUD, these quality speakers are a bargain compared to other brands typically selling around $400 or higher.
Logitech has done it time and again with the speakers they produce and they have done it once again with the Z533.
Logitech produces some of the best PC products in the world and their speakers are second to none. The Logitech Z533 2.1 speakers live up to Logitech's reputation and prove to be one of the best speaker setups out there at a very affordable price. These speakers have now replaced by old PC speakers and I recommend you do the same.
