SilverStone LSB01 RGB Control Box Review

Ever since lighting solution for PC’s were introduced, the whole industry seemed to have transitioned from a natural and easy solution to individually unique RGB lighting. This does not actually affect the performance of the computer but it leans more on the looks and aesthetics of the given build. Today, the market is packed with a lot of RGB-LED solutions which is why a lot of the major computer components’ organizations began integrating the RGB LED to their products.

With that, you will be able to find RGB LED-enabled graphics cards, cooling solutions, PSU’s, RAMS, and even RGB LED-enabled motherboards to name a few. Additionally, motherboard companies have also started using RGB LED headers on boards, enabling the customers to link compatible RGB LED strips to these while also syncing their PC’s chassis – opportunities for lighting-solution manufacturers to customize and tailor their solutions based on the RGB LED headers of manufacturers.

Today, we’re going to focus on SilverStone’s LSBO1 which is generally an eight-port RGB Light Strip Control Box. This is a very different approach from SilverStone towards RGB-LED solutions; however, the company was able to provide one that features a dedicated IC and flexibility of linking with the RGB LED headers of the motherboard.

Before anything else, let’s first see what items are included in the package of SilverStone.

SilverStone LSB01 RGB Control Box Review – RGB Goodness

Let’s have a better look at the controller box itself. The LSB01 from SilverStone comes in a sleek matte black finish and is made entirely of plastic. The plastic appears and feels quite thick and what’s nice about this is that the controller box is built sturdy and durable. When it comes to the size, the LSB01 RGB Control Box is quite small so it won’t be much of a hassle to find a spot to set the controller box in the computer. The company name and logo can be found right at the top of the box while there are two intersecting lines passing through the surface at the top; this simply adds more style to the device’s overall design.

There is also a switch found on the notch and there are also two ID labels printed close to the switch: one of these says MB which means the RGB signal has been sent straight from the motherboard via signal cable and the other is IC which indicates that the RGB signal comes from the controller box. All of the eight ports are allocated on the right, back, and left parts of the controller box and these are all output ports with synchronized signals as well.

LSB01 is SilverStone’s RGB light strip control box that features an 8-port signal control; when used together with the Silverstone LS02, the amount of lighting easily expands for a user to control or solve problems such as insufficient RGB 4-pin connectors. The RGB Control Box allows you to control light through the motherboard RPG software, as well as different RGP 4-pin hosts. Aside from these, the LSB01 can also provide direct control through the case switch together with the included cable adapter; this is for users who lack the RGB 4-pin or another signal source.

The LSB01 features 8-port light strip connectors together with two strips of RGB LED lights. The control box also has a built-in IC preset to allow users to easily change colors directly; aside from that, the device features a built-in magnetic strip and comes with an adhesive tape, offering flexible options for installation.
