Xiaomi Official 4K Android TV Box

Xiaomi has announced that they are will be releasing an updated version of their Mi Box in the west, becoming an official Android TV device.

During Google i/O developers conference Xiaomi made the announcement unveiled their Android TV powered 4k set top box. Price and release date are yet to be confirmed but it’s a pretty safe bet that the price will be competitive.

The announcement of the new Mi Box is perfectly timed with Android TV getting a serious make over to include a range of new apps including Spotify, Watch ESPN and Comedy Central. The Xiaomi Mi Box will be one of the very few official Android TV boxes alongside the Nvidia Shield, Google Nexus Player and Sony televisions.

The Xiaomi Mi Box supports 4k UHD content and the latest HDR standards. The most popular apps such as Netflix, Vudu and Hulu etc. will be able to be installed on the device also. The Mi Box also comes equipped with Google Cast built in, allowing you to mirror your phone or tablet screens with the Mi Box and your TV. The accompanying Bluetooth remote with voice search functionally will make browsing your media and streaming services a breeze.
